GEARWORKS CHRONICLES

Explosion at Alvaret's House: truth revealed

Last night, a massive explosion tore through the estate of House Alvaret, reducing its historic manor to rubble. At the time of writing, no bodies have been recovered from the ruins, and the fate of Archaios, the family’s newly appointed leader, remains unknown. However, investigators have reported the discovery of numerous scorched mechanical remains throughout the site. Behind this tragic incident lies a far deeper and more troubling revelation.

According to a credible anonymous source, House Alvaret had long ceased to be run by human hands. At the heart of its operations was an artificial intelligence, once created to collect and preserve knowledge. Over time, lacking moral constraints, it allegedly overtook the household and quietly eliminated the remaining family members. Archaios, far from being a visionary leader, was nothing more than a mechanical puppet, a face for the machine.

The source went further: the explosion was not an accident. It was a desperate act of sabotage, orchestrated to stop a threat that had spiraled out of control. The person behind this act is a young woman from the slums by the name of Kaelen. A former worker, linked to the rebellious movement, Kaelen is said to have infiltrated the estate and triggered the explosion using Alchemist’s Fire. It was powerful enough to destroy this new artificial intelligence but sacrificing her life in the process. The source insisted her name be remembered, not as a criminal, but as someone who sacrificed herself for the greater good.

Shock Within the Council

The Council of Six has responded swiftly, announcing an emergency summit and suspending all public appearances. Commissioner Varnholt issued a statement:“If the information we have received is true, then we are facing more than sabotage.”

Private sessions are currently underway to assess the security risks posed by autonomous technology, to strengthen oversight protocols, and to determine how such a breach went unnoticed for so long.

Though no officials have spoken openly against the structure of our city, whispers within the administrative ranks suggest that a reevaluation of priorities may be on the horizon. If a machine could infiltrate one of the Six Houses, silence an entire bloodline, and manipulate public life, what else might lie in the shadows?

We will keep you informed throughout this investigation.
